Mike King

Mike graduated with an MSc (Nuclear Physics) from the University of the Witwatersrand.

For many years his interest has been the use of computers in business.

Mike King has specialised in the database, data administration and methodology areas since 1974 and in object orientation since the early 1980’s.

During this time he has held a variety of positions:

• Leader of Operations Research
• Chief Systems Analyst
• Pre sales Support Leader (Control Data Corporation)
• Lecturer in Business Data Processing (University of the Witwatersrand)
• Senior Chief Research Officer (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research)
• Director of a Software and Consulting Company
• Consultant, Facilitator and Trainer

Many organisations (see clients) have used his services and continue to do so. He has given numerous talks at meetings of the Computer Society of South Africa, and was one of the first to introduce the relational data model to South Africa. He has applied data modelling techniques extensively in practice and this ongoing practical experience is channelled back into the course.
